VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur Students Embark on an International Immersion Program at AIT

The School of Management (SOM) at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) had the pleasure of hosting 31 MBA students from Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, for a six-day International Immersion Program held from 14 to 19 July 2026. Designed to bridge academic learning with real-world business practices, the program provided participants with a unique opportunity to gain global perspectives on leadership, innovation, AI, sustainability, and business strategy while experiencing Thailand’s vibrant business and cultural environment.

The immersion program commenced with a warm welcome, campus tour, and networking activities, allowing students to interact with the AIT community before beginning an intense series of academic sessions. Over the course of the week, participants attended six specialized modules delivered by distinguished faculty members and industry experts. Topics included Lessons from a Business Leader in Doing Business in Southeast Asia, Future of Business: Applying Trend Analysis to Business Models, Marketing Excellence for Business Growth, New Trends in Innovation Management, AI in Leadership, and AI Meets Leadership: Driving Successful Digital Transformation. These sessions provided valuable insights into emerging business

trends and equipped students with practical knowledge to navigate an increasingly digital and interconnected business landscape.

Complementing the classroom experience, the students participated in several industry

engagements that enriched their understanding of innovation and corporate leadership.

Highlights included a study visit to Binary Holdings, where participants explored technology-driven business innovation, a leadership session by from the RMA Group, and an inspiring CEO Talk, offering firsthand perspective on executive leadership and

strategic decision-making. The program also featured a dedicated session on Sustainability and ESG for Business Leaders, including a sustainability-focused campus tour that showcased AIT’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.

The International Immersion Program concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony and group photo session, celebrating the successful completion of a week of learning, networking, and cross-cultural exchange. Beyond enhancing participants’ academic and professional knowledge, the program strengthened the longstanding

relationship between AIT SOM and IIT Kharagpur while fostering international collaboration and preparing future business leaders to address global challenges with innovation, responsibility, and a global mindset.
