Attendance Policy
We at SOM strongly encourage all students to attend classes in person whenever possible. While hybrid participation (onsite and/or via Zoom) will continue for Section B (Evening) as usual, we expect Section A (Day) students to attend classes in person, especially those based on the AIT main campus and holding an ED visa.

Please read the following carefully:

Attendance Policy (All Sections)
-
Students who are absent (whether in person or online) for more than 20% of classes will not be permitted to take the final exam (or final projects).
-
If this occurs before the Add/Drop period ends, you will be required to drop the course.
-
If it occurs after the Add/Drop period, you will not be allowed to sit for the final exam, which may result in a failing grade.
-
You will be considered absent if your camera remains off during class, even after reminders from the Program Officer. Having said that, we understand that in some cases, we may allow students to turn their cameras off (you need to seek permission from the Program Officer).
Section A (Day Classes): Students who are based on the AIT main campus and hold an ED visa
-
Attendance is strictly in person.
-
Zoom access will be granted only for exceptional and well-documented reasons (e.g., medical leave, official travel with a visa stamp, evidence showing that you are outside Thailand).
-
Prior approval is required to attend via Zoom. Without approval, you will not be permitted to attend via Zoom.
Weekend Classes
Same policy as Section A:
-
Attendance is strongly recommended to be in person (if you are based in BKK).
-
You need to attend at least 25% of the classes in person (if you are based in BKK).
Section B
-
Section B will continue to offer hybrid (Zoom) participation as usual. However, students must attend at least 25% of sessions in person.
-
Students who are not based in Bangkok may request an exemption by submitting appropriate documentation (e.g., visa entry/departure records, medical reports, or other relevant evidence).
