SOM Students visit Business Online PCL

On November 25, SOM students had the privilege of visiting the Business Online (BOL) office. This visit was an eye-opening and memorable learning experience, providing us with a deeper understanding of the data and information industry in Thailand.

We were warmly welcomed by Ms. Mina Intanate, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of BOL, who shared the company’s inspiring journey, its organizational culture, and the wide range of services it offers. Listening to her, we gained a clear understanding of how BOL has grown over the past 30 years into one of Thailand’s most trusted providers of business information.

During the session, we learned how BOL manages the entire process—from data procurement to data distribution—and how this information supports decision-making for companies nationwide. We were particularly impressed by BOL's role in assisting the Government of Thailand, especially regarding the management and maintenance of data related to Thai companies.

It was fascinating to discover how widely BOL’s platforms are used, serving banks, major financial institutions, large corporations, and SMEs alike. The company has even developed a system to help small and medium-sized enterprises access reliable data and secure funding—a crucial support mechanism for business growth in Thailand.

Another highlight of our visit was learning about BOL’s collaboration with the Royal Thai Police. By helping them manage citizen and visitor information more efficiently, BOL contributes to reducing administrative burdens and improving data accuracy at a national level.

Overall, our visit allowed us to appreciate the importance of reliable data in business, governance, and public services. The session was filled with rich insights, and we returned with a much better understanding of both BOL and the broader landscape of data management in Thailand. This experience will undoubtedly add value to our academic learning and future professional careers.
