Dr. Kamonkanok Kiatisakchai (Kamille), Deputy Dean and MBA Program Director at the School of Management (SOM), Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), has been selected as one of 88 distinguished participants for the Leadership for Trade and Development Strategy Program (LTD#2), organized by the Institute of Trade Development (ITD) under the Ministry of Commerce, Thailand from 8th January to 3rd April 2026.

The LTD#2 program is a high-level national initiative aimed at developing strategic policy recommendations to strengthen Thailand’s trade competitiveness and long-term economic development. Participants from across sectors collaborate to formulate policy frameworks that will be compiled into a White Paper for submission to the Ministry of Commerce.

In this program, Dr. Kamille contributes her expertise in academic research, business management, hospitality, and leadership, with a particular emphasis on integrating tourism, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), and business logic into national trade strategies. Her work highlights how tourism and service industries can serve as key economic drivers while aligning with sustainable development goals, responsible business practices, and value creation across supply chains. She also contributes to the logistics dimension of the policy framework, ensuring that efficiency, sustainability, and service excellence are embedded within Thailand’s trade ecosystem.

The ongoing program concluded with a high-level policy dialogue, where Ms. Suphajee Suthumpun, Minister of Commerce, will engage directly with participants to review and discuss the proposed policy recommendations. The outcomes of this program are expected to be adopted and implemented at the national level, reflecting its strategic importance and direct support from the Ministry of Commerce.

Dr. Kamille’s participation highlights SOM’s active role in contributing to national policy development and reinforces its commitment to bridging academic excellence with real-world impact, particularly in advancing sustainable tourism, ESG-driven strategies, and innovative business models within Thailand’s global trade landscape.
