Changing of the Guard: SSA changes leadership

With the new semester, the SOM Student Ambassadors have changed the leadership of the student organization inline with the terms of the SSA Constitution. It limits the term of the Executive Board to only 1 semester in order to encourage new ideas and initiatives with each new group. The previous Co-Chair, Mr. Sachhyam Shrestha will replace the outgoing Chair, Mr. Aung Pyae Phyo Paing, and the previous General Secretary, Mr. Aditya Gaundalkar, will take the position of Co-Chair.

Last semester, the SSA was able to establish new activities and events at SOM which helped to encourage student engagement and enhance students' experiences outside of the classroom. These activities included a SOM Get-Together potluck lunch event, a Basketball Tournament between MBA and BADT teams, Movie Night at the SOM Student Lounge, After Exams Pizza Party as well as a Welcome Party for the new January intake to name a few.

This semester promises an expansion from last year's activities. For example, the SSA are looking into including more sports tournaments in Table Tennis, Football and also a possible Tennis workshop. In addition, the SSA may establish a SOM Running Club and host Discussion Talks at the SOM Student Lounge. Stay tuned for more SSA updates.
