Casual Alumni Meetup for Bangkok-based SOM Alumni on July 24.

An idea we floated around was to name a time and place as an opportunity for our

Bangkok-based Alumni to meet together in a casual, informal setting. The idea turned into reality on a Friday night, July 24 at The Deck restaurant in Sukhumvit Soi 20 for our first ever casual Alumni meetup.

This idea was put forward as a way to create the tradition of Alumni meeting together

and an opportunity to update each other. The meetup can help to strengthen our Alumni network in Thailand, engage each other as SOM graduates, create more business connections/career opportunities amongst themselves and really just to see old faces again and have fun.

15 Alumni showed up to say hello at the central Bangkok location and tell their stories to everyone over plates of Mexican food. Memories and laughter were shared as they were united in the identity and privilege of being SOM student graduates. Some of them did not see each other for some time and they were able to catch up with each other’s lives and progress in their careers.

AIT SOM would like to hold another Alumni Meetup in the city for all Bangkok-based graduates who would like to meet and catch up with each other. The next meetup will be around September/October 2026.
