We would like to thank the speakers who had the honor of opening the Guest Speaker Program for this January term. Their insightful presentations and perspectives not only set a positive and motivating tone for the program but also inspired the participants. We are grateful for the knowledge they shared with everyone who joined this platform. 


22 January: Mastering the Power of Professional Networking

Speaker: Ms. Bora Jin, Finance Expert and Professional Coach


This session explored what meaningful networking really meant and how it could be approached professionally to build lasting relationships. It offered practical tips and methods that could be implemented right away. Participants learned how to strategically connect with professionals and peers, create value in their interactions, and significantly impact their career journey.



29 January: Creating Value Through Investments: Insights From An Investor And An Entrepreneur

Speaker: Mr Thian Chew, Chair and CEO, Invion Limited 


The talk explored how strategic investments could drive growth, innovation, and success. Mr. Chew shared the perspectives of both an investor who identified opportunities and maximized returns, and an entrepreneur who leveraged investments to scale businesses, solve challenges, and create impact. Through practical tips, real-life examples, and lessons learned, the discussion offered valuable insights into building lasting value for businesses and communities.




12 February: Green and Sustainable Finance: What They Are and What Landmark Cases are There?

Speaker: Dr. Stan Ho, Chief Representative, Syntao Green Finance International; Adjunct Faculty, HKU Business School


Green and Sustainable Finance, which has become a key force in reshaping the financial world, goes beyond traditional investing, directing funds into projects that address climate change, support renewable energy, promote social equity, and strengthen the economy. With his expertise in sustainable finance, Dr. Ho explained essential concepts, highlighted the need to integrate sustainability into finance, and shared real-world examples to demonstrate its powerful impact, showing why this sector is not just a trend, but a crucial driver of future investments.


26 February: The Importance of Dealing with Cultural Differences for Doing Business: Spain and Thailand in Perspective 

Speaker: Prof. Angel Felices Lago, Department of English and German Philology, University of Granada, Spain


The session explored the nuances of Spanish and Thai business cultures, offering practical strategies for managing cross-cultural teams, expanding into international markets, and thriving in an interconnected world. Prof. Lago emphasized the significance of understanding cultural dynamics and how to navigate differences in decision-making and negotiations.
