Green Electricity: Powering Southeast Asia's Next Industrial Leap

On July 15, 2025 at the Bangkok Marriot Marquis Queen's Park Hotel, AIT School of Management and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) Taiwan conducted a seminar entitled: "Green Electricity: Powering Southeast Asia's Next Industrial Leap".

The event's objectives was to facilitate networking between Taiwanese and Thai companies in green energy and smart technology sectors, creating opportunities for cross-border collaboration and innovation sharing. It also served to highlight regional opportunities and Southeast Asia's potential in energy technology and industrial transformation, showcasing the region as a hub for sustainable development and technological advancement.

The event started with Opening Remarks by Mr. Sam Hanna and Prof. Yuosre Badir, followed by short speeches by Prof. Pai Chi Li, President of AIT and Dr. Edwin Liu, President of ITRI.


Two keynote speeches were presented first by Dr. Weerakorn Ongsakul, Professor of the Department of Energy and Climate Change, AIT, with his topic "Blue Energy for Powering Southeast Asia." Dr. Chih-Wen Liu, General Director of Green Energy & Environment Research Lab, ITRI presented secondly with his topic "Reimagining Grid Resilience: Hybrid Transformer and Grid Forming Inverters for the Future Power System."


To round out the event, a panel of experts were invited on stage to discuss the topic: "Corporate Green Strategy" which was moderated by Dr. Tobias Endress. The panelists included:

4. Mr. Jeff Lee, Managing Director, Acer Computer Co., Ltd.

6. Mr. Thaweesak Boonyong, Head of Clean Energy, RMA Energy
