We recently had the privilege of welcoming a group of senior executives from the State Trading Corporation of Bhutan Limited (STCBL) to the AIT School of Management City Campus for an intensive five-day Executive Leadership Training and Development Program.
The program was designed as a highly immersive executive learning experience, moving well beyond traditional classroom-based training. It combined strategic thinking, leadership development, innovation, scenario planning, practical frameworks, facilitated discussion, and action learning, enabling participants to apply the concepts directly to the current and future strategic priorities of STCBL.
The program was delivered by an accomplished team of senior facilitators—Mr. Sam Hanna, Dr. Kiththi Perera, and Mr. Viney Hora—who collectively brought extensive international corporate, leadership, strategic management, and executive education experience into the classroom. Their complementary expertise enabled the program to integrate academic rigor with real-world business experience, ensuring that discussions remained practical, relevant, challenging, and directly applicable to the executives’ organizational responsibilities.
A particular strength of the program was the quality of facilitation and participant engagement. Rather than relying on conventional lecturing, the facilitators challenged participants to question assumptions, explore alternative future scenarios, collaborate on strategic priorities, and translate their learning into practical actions relevant to STCBL’s future.
The quality and relevance of the program were strongly reflected in the participants’ evaluations, with the senior executives providing exceptionally high ratings and positive feedback across the five-day experience. Their responses highlighted not only the calibre of the facilitators and content, but also the effectiveness of the immersive, discussion-driven and action-oriented learning methodology.
The program represents the School of Management’s continuing commitment to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant Executive Education that combines world-class thinking with practical application and equips senior leaders to navigate complexity, lead transformation, and create sustainable organisational impact.
