The School of Management (SOM) at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) recently hosted an online Meet and Greet session with students from the Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM Jammu) who are enrolled in the Dual-Degree MBA Program in AI and Business Analytics. The session provided an opportunity for the students to meet the SOM team, learn more about their academic journey at AIT, and discuss career development and the student experience.
The students are currently completing the first year of their MBA studies at IIM Jammu and are expected to join AIT School of Management in 2027 for their second year. This dual-degree structure provided students with the opportunity to experience the academic environments and strengths of both institutions as part of their MBA journey.
The event brought together 72 participants, including 61 IIM Jammu students, accompanied by representatives from IIM Jammu, including Dr. Chinmaya Kumar Swain, Chairperson of the AI Business Analytics Program; Dr. Mahesh Dadekar, Chairperson for Placement; and Mr. Arup Bhattacharya, Chief Program Officer.

He subsequently introduces the students to the Dual-Degree MBA program, providing an overview of their academic pathway and what they can expect when they begin their second year at AIT SOM in June 2027.
The session continued with Mr. Dennes, who introduced SOM’s career development support and discussed how students can prepare for their future professional opportunities. The final part of the program was dedicated to an interactive Q&A session, giving students an opportunity to engage directly with the SOM team and exchange thoughts regarding the program, academic experience, career development, and their upcoming journey at AIT.
The Meet and Greet marked an important early milestone in the students’ dual-degree journey and further strengthened the growing academic partnership between AIT School of Management and IIM Jammu. SOM looks forward to welcoming the students to AIT in June 2027 and supporting them throughout the second year of their MBA studies and their continued academic and professional development.
