OKMD and AIT-SOM in Discussion to Develop AI-Driven Lifelong Learning Programs

In alignment with Thailand’s national vision to promote lifelong learning and position the country as a global leader, the Office of Knowledge Management and Development (OKMD) under the Prime Minister’s Office is in discussion with the School of Management (SOM) at AIT to develop innovative short courses integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a tool for upskilling and learning enhancement.

As AI becomes an essential driver of digital transformation, OKMD is proactively exploring its potential to support youth, SME’s, and education professionals seeking practical and accessible knowledge. The proposed short courses will focus on equipping participants with the skills to apply AIT in across various domains such as strategy, decision-making, data visualization, and marketing – industries earmarked by OKMD for upskilling and reskilling in order to see significant growth in 2025.

The collaborative effort between OKMD and AIT SOM aims to develop and develop the short courses with an initial focus on practical application, hands-on tools, and domain specific case studies. The programs will be designed with inclusive learning in mind, ensuring accessibility for both industry professionals and theyounger generation – OKMD’s core audience.

The initial discussion was held on Tuesday, 13 May 2025 at SOM’s city campus in Column Tower, attended by Dr. Twarath Sutabutr, President; Dr. Apichart Prasert, Vice President; Mr. Tomorn Sookprecha, Executive Director Strategy and Innovation Bureau; and Dr. Kiattiporn Wangpattarapong, Director Communication Department from OKMD. Prof. Yuosre Badir, Dean SOM was accompanied by Mr. Sam Hanna, Director of Business and Corporate Development, SOM; and Dr. Nabeel Bokhari, Program Specialist, SOM. This pioneering imitative represents a meaningful step forward toward building Thailand’s AI capabilities and fostering a culture of continuous learning in support of national development goals.
