1) Please give us a brief introduction about yourself.

Hi, I'm Sue. I’m a digital marketer with a background in Communication and Management. I graduated from AIT - MSc in Business Analytics and Digital Transformation. Currently, I run my own boutique agency, First Brick Digital, where I help local and international businesses in Thailand grow through tailored digital strategies, particularly in social media marketing and advertising.

2) Why did you choose to study BADT at AIT SOM?

After years of working in the digital marketing space, I wanted a deeper understanding of business strategy, management, data and innovation. AIT's BADT program stood out to me because it was truly international, practice-oriented, and taught in English. It felt like the perfect blend of business, technology, and strategy, all in one. The community at AIT also gave me access to peers and professors from all over the world, which enriched the experience even more.

3) Let's talk about First Brick Digital. How and why did you start it? What are you trying to change or achieve?

I wanted a change from the corporate and office environment, and the freedom to build something of my own. I also noticed that many international small businesses in Thailand struggle to find digital marketers who truly understand their business goals, speak fluent English, and can both develop strategy and execute across local Thai platforms, or manage campaigns that speak effectively to both international and Thai audiences.

The idea behind “First Brick” is to serve as a solid foundation for their digital presence. We help clients get seen, get results, and grow sustainably.

4) Where do you see yourself in the next 5–10 years?

I’d love to grow First Brick Digital and build a remote team of talented creatives who love what they do, while fostering a supportive work culture for freelancers and marketers. But who knows what the future holds? I might end up investing in something else while continuing to run First Brick as a small, boutique agency.

5) Do you have any words of advice for any of our students who are thinking about starting their own online company? What kind of difficulties did you face and how did you overcome them?

Start small, but start smart. You don’t need a perfect plan to begin, you need clarity, consistency, the willingness to learn from real feedback, and don't give up easily. When I started, I struggled with self-doubt (still do from time to time, like anyone else) and pricing my services. But I learned to focus on delivering value and listening to clients’ real needs. Also, don’t be afraid to say “no” to work that doesn’t align with your goals. Your time and energy are your most valuable resources.

Thank you Sue for sharing your experiences with us! We hope our students can learn from your journey after they graduate from AIT. If anyone has digital marketing needs for their company or would like to request Sue's marketing portfolio, please visit First Brick Digital.
