Pietro Borsano is an Associate Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), Entrepreneur College near Shanghai. He specializes in entrepreneurship, innovation management, and industry-academic collaboration, with a regional focus on China, Southeast Asia, and Europe.

Previously, he served as Deputy Executive Director at Chulalongkorn University’s School of Integrated Innovation in Bangkok, where he co-founded the institution, built global partnerships, and led startup and corporate innovation projects with Fortune 2000 companies.

His research focuses on digital transformation, dynamic capabilities, and family enterprises, with publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Asian Business and Management and applied case studies featured in Nikkei.

Alongside his academic work, he has over a decade of experience in management consulting. He co-founded AdvisingAsia, a consulting firm supporting European firms and startups in market expansion, localization, and innovation strategy across ASEAN and China. He has advised VCs and innovation agencies, including serving as a Peer Review Expert for Hong Kong’s Innovation and Technology Venture Fund and as a Venture Fellow at MeetVentures Singapore.

He also holds adjunct professor appointments at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), and previously served as Interim Director—and now Adviser—of the Global Academy at Siam University. His educational background is in corporate law (University of Turin) and business administration (ESCP Business School).
