Dr. Milad Armani Dehghani received his PhD in Technology Management & Industrial Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. He is an Associate Professor in FinTech and Digital Technology at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). He has over a decade of international academic and professional experience across the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, Canada, and Southeast Asia.
His work sits at the intersection of FinTech, digital innovation, patent analytics, IP strategy, and emerging technology commercialisation, including AI and blockchain. His previous roles include Senior Research Fellow in FinTech at Nottingham Business School, alongside adjunct faculty appointments across multiple universities internationally. He has also led a Scottish Government-funded FinTech proof-of-concept project in collaboration with the University of Dundee, focusing on the development and commercialisation of responsible digital finance solutions.
Dr. Armani is the inventor of three FinTech-related intellectual properties and the founder of the FinTech start-up LayawayGo, an AI-enabled savings and payment platform designed to promote responsible consumption and financial wellbeing. His research has been published in leading journals, including the Journal of Business Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and other internationally recognised outlets.
